Function 2: "Bacup" charger

Contacts Back-up

"Bacup" can back-up your contacts and SIM card information into the internal memory. Use the following:

Step 1: Switch to Battery Power supply mode

Plug mobile phone data cable into "Bacup" USB host port, data line connected to the other side and cell phone

Plug Bacup into the power outlet and the red LED will stay lighted, green back light. After a few seconds, the green indicator light starts flashing, "Bacup" has already built communication with phone correctly, is backing up contacts and charging for cell phone.

After the back-up is completed, the LED will remain on and Bacup will charger phone until battery is fully charged.

Note：

a) The speed of data backup is related to the data transfer rate of the cell phone, and the length of the contact list on your cell phone and SIM card. Hence, different cell phones can take different lengths of time to complete the backup. Usually, under normal conditions, the process takes a few minutes.

b) Bacup can only back up data when the phone is turned on.

c) If the green light stays light for ever, please reconnect or update Bacup.

d) If you need to use the phone and wish to disconnect Bacup from your cell phone, you may do so at any time. However, after use, you have to follow the above steps to restart the back-up process.

e) Bacup can store 1500-3000 contacts, the actual number depend on length of contact. Please don’t copy other files into Bacup and be careful of computer virus, which might cause error.

Contacts Restore

For the greatest possible protection of the user's data safe, there are two different modes for "Bacup" restore data to the phone, data increment restore and data clearing restore.

Data increment restore will comoare contacts in phone with that in "Bacup", and restore the contacts to the phone that not exist in the phone but in "Bacup". Because of comparing the differences of data with the phone and "Bacup", so it is safe for data increment restoring, and will not destroy contacts in phone and "Bacup", but it need more time for data increment restore.

Data clearing restore will remove all the contacts in your phone, then restore the contacts in "Bacup" to phone.

Attention: Data clearing restore will empty all the contacts in your phone, Moreover, this action can not be repaired, please carefully Operation.

Plug Bacup into the power outlet and the red LED will light, the yellow LED wll light. After a few seconds, the red and yellow will flash slowly at the same time and wait for confirmation.

Short by restore button, the red light will return to a long bright state, while the yellow lantern to flash, "Bacup" has been set up data communication correctly with cell phone, and is going incremental data restore, while charging for mobile phone

After restore is completed, the LED will remain on and Bacup will charger phone until battery is fully charged.

Note：

a) Restore can only occur when the cell phone is turned on.

b) If the yellow light is always on, please reconnect or update Bacup.

c) If you need to use the phone and wish to disconnect Bacup from your cell phone, you may do so at any time. However, after use, you have to follow the above steps to restart the back-up process.

d) Please ensure that there is enough space in your cell phone before you start the restoration process. That's because some cell phones have limited contact storage capacity, which will make it impossible to add new contact to your cell phone if there is not enough space for it.

e) After "Bacup" Unplug from the socket, be sure to back selector switch to the backup file which is in the bottom of "Bacup". As the state of the restore and "air fueling" is the same, Therefore, if the swich is for the restore switch and no external electricity or access to personal computers for long time, internal rechargeable lithium battery power of "Bacup" will be exhausted.

Plug miniUSB of the data cable to "Bacup",

Plug Bacup into the USB port of your computer and after a few seconds it will be recognized on the computer as a removable disk named "METECH", and the red and green light will stay lighted.

Under the root directory of the removable disk, there are three documents listed as SIM1.TXT, SIM2.TXT and PHONE.TXT. These documents record the contact information from the SIM card and the phone separately. You can visit the web site http://www.bacup.com to upload contacts to Online Contacts Editor.

Insert the SD or MMC card to the reader slot, then plug miniUSB of the data cable to "Bacup", access the standard USB cable port access to PC, and the red and the light lights wll stay lighted. "Bacup" will be recognized as SD/MMC card reader that be suit for USB2.0 standard.

Note:

After "Bacup" Unplug from the socket, be sure to back selector switch to the backup file which is in the bottom of "Bacup". In the case of accessing to electricity, can charge USB device which supports USB port(How to do this varies depending on the device, and the same to charge accessing to the computer. Some equipment needed to charge through the USB port turned on.)

The phone that accessed "Bacup" to back-up or restore. "Bacup" will backup data or restore, while charging the phone.

Note:

After charged, please remove the lithium battery otherwise it will shorten battery's life.

Aerial Refueling

"MR Bacup",built-in internal rechargeable 800 mA lithium battery. Thus, in the case of none external power supply,"MR Bacup" can be used as an emergency power to your mobile phone and any other USB devices supported USB charging port,just need to plug the device into USB host port, and dial the function selector switch at the bottom of "MR Bacup" to restore file.(How to do this varies depending on the device,and it's the same to charge through accessing to the computer.For example, when some devices need to charge via the computer's USB port you have to turned on them.)After charging, dial the function selector switch timely at the bottom of "MR Bacup" to the back up side,otherwise it might result in a "MR Bacup" internal lithium battery drain out.

"MR Bacup" normally accessed to city electricity and cell phones,it will back up or restore the mobile phone data.Therefore, the same "MR Bacup" can preserve different cell phones ,or restore differernt cell phones.When you have several phones,need to add up all the address books together,or you replace it for the new phone,need to import the old address book data into the new phone,you can use our "MR Bacup" easily to do them.

ps：If use your "MR Bacup" with other people's phone it may back up the phone's data or restore it,so this will cause your personal data loss.To protect your personal data better,"MR Bacup" provides more confidentiality for data encryption hardware.

If you want to use "MR Bacup" alone for your own mobile phone data backup ,and you want the address book data will not be weaked.You can use the "MR Bacup" data encryption."MR Bacup" after encrypted,will just back up or restore for the eccrypted phone,and the phone with no encryption,will just be charged.After encrypted, "MR Bacup" used to access to the computer as a removable disk,also need to enter a password to open it.

Mobile Encryption

"MR Bacup" encryption method must be achieved via cell phone.Add an article in you mobile phone address book,name for the "add password" or "encode",at the cell of telephone number you have to set the password (the password can only be number),and then the backup operation. (Backup operation method refer to page 9, "with phone connections - Data Backup"),during the backup process,"MR Bacup" will automatically set the password.

After encrypted to a "MR Bacup", when data backup or a restore the phone it will first check whether there are names as "add password",the password is in the address book entries you set.If there exists this article in the phone and the password is correct,"MR Bacup" will then carry out normal backup or restore.If your phone does not exist this entry,it notes that this is not the user's mobile phone,the phone will not be back up or restore,but only to recharge.

Mobile decryption

If you need to cancel, "MR Bacup" 's password protection,you can make it through the decryption operation."MR Bacup" decryption methods must also be achieved via cell phone.Add an article in you mobile phone address book,name for the "delete password" or "decode",at the cell of telephone number you have to set the password (the password can only be number),and then the backup operation. (Backup operation method refer to page 9, "with phone connections - Data Backup"),During the backup process, "MR Bacup" will automatically delete the pre-set password.

After decryption, "MR Bacup" will automatically access the mobile phone (Required in the "MR Bacup" support list)Backup, or restore.If you need to re-set after decryption password ,you can refer to the encryption step to re-encode you phone.To change the password you need to first decrypt on the phone and then re-encrypted on the phone.

Edit address book after encryption

"MR Bacup", encrypted,when accessed to the computer as a removable disk is also encrypted.Encrypted "contacts treasure" when accessed to computer,there is only one file named "password inputing".Double-click the file,in the pop-up dialog box text in a password refer to the tips,and then "MR Bacup" will automatically disconnect the connection with the computer ,after waiting for about a few seconds it will automatically re-connect the computer.If the password you entered is correct,then "MR Bacup" will be opened correctly.You can edit or modify on the address book you saved in the "MR Bacup",else if incorrect, it will return to the password interface.

ps:

a)Edit on the address book in a Encrypted "MR Bacup" used as a removable disk, will be in vain,under a valid password.This will fully protect the user's data from destroyed.

b)After editing you must in a timely manner removed "MR Bacup" from the computer re-insert "MR Bacup" need to re-enter your password.

c)"MR Bacup" the encryption and decryption can only be done by phone."MR Bacup" as a removable disk, enter the correct password, can only edit the saved contacts, can not be deleted "MR Bacup" password.

d)Encrypted "MR Bacup" does not affect the use of the reader.

Upgrade Online

"Bacup" will support some cell phones when out of factory. The list of support phones in the moved disk. The file name is "Support List". Double click this file we can get the phone list.(Modify, and delete this file and other operation Directly is unvalid). Because it will launch a new phone every year, "Bacup" can not directly support all mobile phone. Therefore, if your phone is out of the list, you can upgrade your Bacup.

Upgrade steps:

Login http://www.bacup.com to choose "Bacup" upgrade site, search for your phone model, click to download.

Put the download file to the root directory of Bacup.

Safely remove Bacup-Fashion from computer and reconnect Bacup-Charger to computer. If the update is successful, the file in Bacup-Charger that holds the list of supported cell phone models will have included your cell phone model.

Note:

a)Possibilities are that the supporting softwares for old cell phone models can be eliminated as you download packs for the new models, because of the limited storage capacity of Bacup-Charger.

b) If you cannot find your cell phone model on the list and want to have it supported, please contact us.Our technical staff will resolve your problem quickly.

Q: My "Bacup" insert into the power outlet, why can not backup(restore) data after connected cell phone.

A: 1)Please check that your phone is in the support list of "Bacup"

2) If your phone is in the support list of "Bacup", please check your phone line for data access is set correctly or not, if you set the phone as a U disk or other large-capacity data storage device or network camera, it can not backup data.

3) If three lights of "Bacup" all light, please check your "Bacup" is encrypted or not? But the phone does not store the password information, so backup and restore operations are prohibited.

Q: Why my "Bacup" access to your computer but the computer does not prompt the emergence of new equipment?

A: Please check the "Bacup" was properly access to the computer and the computer's USB port is not damaged. If the "Bacup" red power lights that "Bacup" was the correct power supply via computer, Please be patient.

Q: Why my "Bacup" accessed to computer, but I do not have found "Bacup" support list and save the address book file in the removable disk?

A: 1) Please confirm to a "Bacup" in a removable disk file rather than the reader profile.(When Bacup is in a removable disk file, the access to the disk will named "MRTECH")

2) Please Confirm "Bacup" is in the encrypted state? "Bacup" recogniazed as a removable disk after encrypted, we must enter the password correctly to view save Data of "Bacup" in order to protect the privacy of user data.

A: When my "Bacup" is a card reader, why Can not open the disk in the computer by double-clicking?

A: Please insert supported SD or MMC card correctly to card slot of the reader.

Q: Why is my "Bacup" can not charge the mobile phone when back-up or restore?

A：Make sure your phone supports charging via the data lines, and use the correct data cable.

Q：When I charge for my phone using "Bacup", the cell phone always does not appear complete charge?

A：As some of the mobile phone charging through data cable, Phone's internal power supply involved in the charge management chip. When the battery of the phone will be automatically transferred to trickle charge or have completely stopped charging.

Q：While my phone is power off without power, why does my mobile phone still can not boot when connected to the "Bacup"?

A：Wwhile the mobile phone battery is fully no electricity, it will take some time to charge the battery before it can activate the phone. Charging through data cable, your phone will start charging automatically after a few minutes, please be patient. Especially in the state of "air refueling", if the mobile phone is no boot, yellow light does not flicker, please wait a few minutes.

Battery Information

This equipment includes internal rechargeable battery. Battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but will age eventually. If using battery first time, or if the battery has been a long time unused, may be need to access to electricity to charge the battery in order to activate the battery.

When this equipment is not in use, disconnect the the connection between the mobile phones and other devices, and unplug from the power outlet. Do not place this device connected to the power outlet on a long time, since overcharging may shorten battery life. If this equipment has been fully charged, but do not hold, the battery itself is in a period of time after discharge.

Do not make the USB port of the device short-circuit. When a metallic object (such as coins, pins or pens, etc.) by accident in the USB interface "+" pole and "-" connected together very directly , they will short circuit. Short circuit may damage the battery or the connecting object。

If you put this equipment on the place too hot or cold, such as put the battery on a closed car in summer or winter, will reduce the battery capacity and life expectancy. You would try to keep this device between the temperature 15 ° C and 25 ° C (59 ° F and 77 ° F). Equipment may cause the device to temporarily not work if too cold or overheated, even if the battery is fully charged. Keep it dry, as any moisture or liquid could corrode the internal circuits.

Do not use Bacup in a dusty or filthy area, as there could be damage to the detachable parts of Bacup.

Do not store it under high temperatures, because it will damage the battery, deform plastic components in Bacup and shorten its useful lifespan.

Do not store Bacup under extremely cold temperatures. Moisture in the air will condense when temperatures rise and this could destroy the circuit.

Do not throw, knock or shake Bacup. Rough mis-handling of Bacup or hard impacts will damage the internal circuits and fine structure.

Do not clean Bacup with any strong chemicals or liquids. When necessary, please use a dry cloth to clean instead.

Do not paint Bacup. Dried paint debris may get stuck between detachable components of Bacup and result in malfunction.

Proper Usage

Waterproof Ability

This product is not waterproof; please use it under dry conditions only.

Operating Environment

This product is a common indoor electronic device and can be damaged under certain conditions, including the following: exposure to direct sunlight for long periods of time, exposure to extremely high/low temperatures, dropping of Bacup or hard impact against heavy items.

External AC power supply

This product supports USB charger(Above 500mA).Do not access this equipment to other power supply.

Do not access the computer at the same time the use of power
